Well, today was supposed to be a workout day, but I spent last evening complaining about lower back pain and sore/tired legs, so I decided to postpone the workout until tomorrow. Doing overhead press again after nearly two weeks off from it did a number on my lower back, and the squats from Tuesday just killed my legs, so better to have one more recovery day, I think. My back feels pretty good today, but why chance it?
So it was a quick trip in to the gym for weigh-in, and hoo-boy, didn’t the weight just shoot up this week? Strangely, while I’m disappointed it’s not a loss (would’ve been nice to be below 160), I’m not really upset by it. I maybe indulged a bit during my trip to L.A., but I don’t think I put on any fat, per se. Looking at the water number, I’m up 2 lbs of water from last week’s weigh-in, while I’m only up 1.6 lbs in total.
I’ve been drinking a lot more water this week because the meds I’m on give me dry-mouth something awful. My wife also pointed out that, hey, my muscles are sore from working out, which means they’re in recovery mode, and muscles that are repairing themselves retain water.
So while there’s going to be an unpleasant little uptick on the weight chart for this week, I’m not worried. I’m still heading in the right direction.
See you tomorrow for Workout A.
