Weekly Weigh-In / Fit Report – May 12th, 2016 – Fit Fix(Legs/Back)

Well now, I’m confused.

Back to the gym today after a week off. Last Friday I had to take a short lunch, so I had no time to work out. Then this weekend I started getting sick, and on Monday I had to take the day off of work. Finally today I felt I’d recovered enough to bike to work and head back to the gym. Just in time for Weigh-In day!

WWI_2016_05_12That’s not the confusing part. That happened when I stepped on the scale.

My weight is down 1.8 lbs, so yay for that, but every other number on that printout is messed up. For some reason, the scale thinks that in the last 7 days I’ve lost 13 lbs of water/muscle and gained 11.2 lbs of fat. My body fat % reads 6.6% higher. Either the machine has been consistently wrong for the past 5.5 months, or this reading is totally out of whack. I talked to somebody at the front desk, but she didn’t have any suggestions other than turn it off and back on again. I weighed myself four times, and all of the readouts were like this one. It’s frustrating because I’m tracking this stuff, and if everything is going to change, it throws my tracking off. I’m hoping this is just a blip, and the scale is back to normal next week.

run0001 As for the workout, I ran just slightly below my high pace from last week, but I probably could have done the max just fine. I’ll go back up to it tomorrow and see how it goes. Overall the run felt good, not too difficult and my breathing was ok. That’s really what I was worrying about, since I’d been hacking and coughing since the weekend. Maybe next week I’ll start raising the incline.

I’m hoping to get outside this weekend for a run, but we’ll have to see about the weather and other factors that may interfere, like life tends to do.

Fit Fix went fairly well today. I didn’t increase any weights this time, but I did add one rep to FR0068my seated row, which is no mean feat (I find it to be my most difficult exercise; weak back muscles, I guess). Almost up to two full sets on that one! Fingers crossed that I can do it next week; if not next Legs/Back workout, then maybe the one after it.
