I wasn’t sure how today’s workout was going to go, as I came down with a cold this weekend. Fortunately, I woke up feeling better this morning than I did yesterday, so I went to the gym.
I found that my lungs were a little heavy while running, but I still managed to run for the whole 10 minutes plus the cooldown. And I managed to do it at an increased pace of 9.98 km/h (6.2 mph). So close to 10 km/h. Damn conversion from imperial units! *shakes fist* Next time, 10 km/h for sure!
I also noticed while running that my shoes didn’t pinch my feet as long as I was jogging, but as soon as I moved to a quick walk, they started digging into the tops of my feet. If I did the cooldown at an ungainly slow jog instead of a quick walk, they felt okay. Now, the shoes don’t pinch my feet walking normally, so maybe this is just a treadmill thing with them. Like the treadmill is pushing the shoe back into my foot or something. Who knows?
I did my physio workout after that. Only a couple of changes to report. I increased the weights I’m lifting on the Arnold press to 10 lbs/arm, with no ill effects. Seemed easy enough. I’ll keep it there for a while and maybe increase it again in a few weeks. I also managed to increase my duration on the standard plank by nearly 15 seconds, to 1:03. Back above a minute! Long way to go to get back to where I was, but if I can increase it a bit every time, it’ll add up quickly.
Back to Fit Fix tomorrow, hopefully my throat is all better by then.
