Wow! Two whole months! Our little girl is growing up so fast!
She’s changed so much since last month. She’s much more alert, and she smiles! Oh man, the smiles! She’s been smiling to herself for a while now, but these days she smiles in reaction to things that we do, and in that instant you forget how she was up half the night fussing, or screamed all afternoon, and you just fall in love all over again.
She’s getting so big and strong. She holds her head up on her own when you hold her upright, and she’s a pro at tummy time already. And she loves a good game of ‘hold me up while I kick off of your lap’ (hopefully your lap; sometimes her aim is a bit off, and the game has to pause for a minute). She’s about 10 and a half pounds, and is growing out of a lot of her 0-3 month outfits. Time to take inventory on our 3-6 month outfits and see if we have enough.
She still spends most of her alert time looking at anything but Mom and Dad, but she’s concentrating on us a lot more than she was a month ago. And she has so much more of that alert time. Unfortunately, a bunch of it is fussing time, which seems to fall in the late afternoon/early evening most days, but hopefully she’ll grow out of it soon.
I have to say I’m so grateful for FaceTime on my iPhone, because it lets me see my little girl during the day, and it’s so nice to see her looking at my image on my wife’s iPod and responding to my voice. Makes the workday just that little bit better, ya know?
I’ll leave you with a little video that my wife took during Lily’s photo shoot. We were given a couple of Sing-a-ma-Jigs for our baby shower, and they certainly hold her attention.
We love that little noise she makes after she sneezes. Kills us every time. 🙂
